Password Protected WordPress Sites
Learn how you can integrate a WordPress site with password protection with BackupSheep
If your WordPress website is locked with a user and password using .htaccess or any other directory protection tool then you can add those details in your WordPress integration settings to so that BackupSheep can authenticate when making API calls to create your WordPress backups.
When you are adding new integration or modifying one then you will see User and Password fields. Just add a username and password there and validate your integration.
This username and password are sent as HTTP Basic Auth with any API request BackupSheep makes to your WordPress website.
These fields are optional and if you have a public WordPress website then you likely don't need it. If you have any questions then please contact support.
